Information Management Officer Job in Kenya

Summary

Job Purpose
To develop structures and systems for information management in the organization and oversee the management, filing and document movement system in the company so as to
ensure easy retrieval and continuing availability of information in a timely and accurate manner and Ensure adherence to legal requirements in management of information. You will also be the project Manager for all Information Management projects including digitization projects.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be expected to;

  • Develop policies and procedures for information management in the organization
  • Establish and control the document movement in the organization to guarantee accountability.
  • Develop and implement records management and classification tools.
  • Develop and implement document archival process
  • Project manager for information digitization projects
  • Put in place a document storage system and its electronic management; etc.
  • Monitor the work of filling clerk to ensure adherence to operational procedures and monitor their performance.
  • Undertake training of internal users on records management systems and processes
  • Be the project Manager for data digitization projects and play a key role in selection and management of external consultants.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in Information science/library science, or related discipline
  • Diploma in information management or equivalent experience
  • 5 years working experience in information/records management
  • Experience in managing digitization projects.
