Job opportunity in Nairobi with a leading company in service industry

Our client, a leading local company in the service industry with operations in Nairobi and other major towns in Kenya wishes to recruit skilled, competent, motivated, and self driven individual for the Tender/Bid Assistant position.

The Position:
The position is responsible for production of exceptional quality tender submissions, tailored to the requirements of each individual client, producing the best possible bid for the company.


It is also responsible for carrying out research, updating records and maintaining detailed information to facilitate effective management of the tender/bid process.

The Key Responsibilities are:

  • Collect tender/bid documents as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Collect data and information needed for preparation of tender/bid documents.
  • Assist in the packaging of tender/bid documents.
  • Deliver tender documents as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Check daily newspapers for tenders/bids and bring those relevant to the company to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Check assigned websites for tenders/bids and bring those relevant to the company to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Check various Tender Search systems on a daily basis and identify any contracts which may be of interest to the Company, either to bid or for market intelligence purposes.
  • Post data and information in the tenders/bids administration system.
  • Maintain soft and hard copy filing of tender/bid documents.
  • Update all records, databases and produce required reports for the management.
  • Take accurate minutes of the Tender/Bid meetings.
  • Receive and deal with enquiries from colleagues and clients concerning tenders.

The person required must have:
Level of Education/Academic Qualification At least a Bachelor’s Degree in a business related area.

Professional/Technical Qualifications
A Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies.

Other Competencies

  • Good analytical skills and accuracy and attention to details.
  • Flexible and able to work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to use basic computer packages.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • An enthusiastic, self-motivated individual and excellent team player.
  • Must be creative and able to produce tailored documents.

Relevant Job Experience
MUST HAVE AT LEAST THREE (3) YEARS’ EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR POSITION.

Exposure in a busy environment that required the individual to work under extreme pressure will be an advantage.
