Business Development Manager Nairobi Job

Industry: Construction
Location: Ngara-Nairobi
Allowance: Ksh 60,000- 80,000 plus commission

Our client is a company that imports and supplies medium to high end specialized building materials (Tiles, Fittings, Taps, Shower systems, sinks). They seek to hire a Business Development Manager to market their unique products and negotiating, and closing business. An individual in the construction industry preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Pro-actively identify new and different business opportunities to provide increased sales
  • Presenting the company’s products to potential clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, tele-conferences, telephone calls and emails
  • Following up new business opportunities and setting up meetings with clients
  • Planning and preparing presentations to potential clients
  • Client Relationship management
  • Maintain up to date with all industry trends, issues and news
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners
  • Create and be accountable for all client proposals, contracts and any further documentation
  • Identify new markets for growth within the East Africa community
  • Increase sales volumes
  • Supervising two sales executives and a shop attendant

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Business (Marketing)
  • Additional professional experience is an added advantage
  • At least 3 to 5 years experience in construction
  • A strong marketing experience with proven track record of delivering sales results
  • Possesses a strong knowledge of the building and construction industry
  • Having a good network with players in the industry like Quantity Surveyors, Architects and Developers
  • Strong communication skills in all forms with strong ability to create the right impression with clients
  • Confident negotiator with ability to close business deals
  • Extremely proactive and strong drive and energy to deliver results
  • Ability to direct own efforts and keep good records
  • Willing to grow with the company
  • Streetwise and able to identify opportunities through own initiative
  • Ability to think strategically and bring this to problem solving
  • High degree of honesty and integrity
  • Should be flexible and highly mobile to undertake field business development activities
  • Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet.
