NSE Officer, International Relations Kenya Job

The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) is a company licensed by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) to facilitate the trading of financial products through the provision of a trading platform for listed securities.

In line with this mandate, the NSE is seeking to recruit qualified, dynamic, self- motivated and results- oriented individuals to fill the following position:

Officer, International Relations

Overall Purpose:
Under the guidance of the Head of Market and Product Development, the Officer will be responsible for managing the African Securities Exchanges Association Secretariat as well
as handling the NSE regional and international obligations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • The African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) Secretariat
  • Implementing the ASEA strategy, initiatives and action plans aimed at advancing the mission and objectives of the Association;
  • Implementing strategies for strengthening collaborative partnerships and networks with stakeholders, government agencies and other players to ensure implementation of programmes that enhance the performance of the African capital markets industry;
  • Managing ASEA contractual obligations with partners and service providers;
  • Managing the administrative functions and events of the Association;
  • Management of the content on the ASEA website and social media on Facebook and Twitter;
  • Development and circulation of the ASEA periodicals;
  • Doing all other things, not inconsistent with the foregoing, as shall promote the objects and purpose of ASEA.
  • The Nairobi Securities Exchange Regional and International Obligations
  • Coordinating the NSE contractual obligations arising from regional and international partnerships;
  • With reference to (2.a.) providing content for the NSE website and social media on Facebook and Twitter.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Business Administration or similar fields from a recognized institution.
  • Possession of the CPS qualification will be an added advantage;
  • Minimum two (2) years relevant experience;
  • Excellent knowledge of English. Working knowledge of French and/or Arabic will be an added advantage;

Key Competencies

  • Strong leadership skills including effective interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in project implementation;
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of media and technology including the internet and its proper utilization for communication and promotion of the objectives of the organization;
  • Ability to take personal responsibility for dealing with stakeholder’ issues and concerns.
  • Ability to maintain professional status and keep abreast of evolving trends in the financial services industry.

  • Ability to interact and relate effectively with business customers.
  • Excellent service fulfillment and incident management skills.
  • Strong client focus and genuine desire to assist.
  • Well-developed analytical skills, persistence and good communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with team members with multi-disciplined ICT skills and roles.
