Senior Systems Integrator Kenya Jobs (2 Positions)

An International IT company specialized in development and implementation projects for the financial sector, particularly focused on addressing the needs of microfinance institutions, commercial banks, cooperatives, credit unions, payment and mobile operators is looking to employ Systems Integrators for its office in Nairobi, Kenya

Basic job duties:

  • Organize, manage, and execute integration and migration projects
  • Design and document the technology solution
  • Estimate the amount of work required of the integration / implementation team
  • Install, uninstall, and configure the company applications to specifications
  • Install, uninstall, and configure of applications that are required for the normal operation of the application program products
  • Support existing implementations of company applications
  • Administer, maintain, and update the applications that he/she has implemented and/or created and/or updated
  • Participate in transferring knowledge to the production process
  • Participate in training the customer
If necessary
  • Develop and/or update application programs in accordance with a pre-made Terms Of Reference (TOR)
  • Relieve other specialists in their basic functions
  • Perform configuration, installation of operating system, standard system and application software and antivirus software on the computer systems
  • Assist computer users to resolve problems with the use of standard application software
  • Monitor and control the status of the ceded computer equipment and software
  • Keep track of the innovations in programming and programming languages in accordance with the uniform policy in the company
  • Know the organization of the management in the company and its structures in the branches and businesses
  • Be familiar with the principles of the formation and movement of information flow in the management of the Company
  • Observe the interdepartmental regulations
  • Perform other duties assigned by his direct supervisor or company management, related to his work

Main responsibilities: 
In performing their duties, the employee is responsible for:

  • The quality of the work performed
  • Adherence to professional obligations and ethics
  • Protection of commercial and production secret
  • Keeping in good technical condition of the equipment entrusted to him (computer, printer, scanner, etc.)
  • Care of the assignments submitted to him, output data, and other documents
  • The proper functioning of the developed and implemented software products
  • Compliance with the established health and safety rules in the company and the fire safety rules
  • Any damages resulting from a breach of terms

Organizational relationship:

  • This position reports directly to the Technical Team Lead
  • While on duty, performs organizational relationships with the project manager, supervisors, specialists and staff from all departments
  • Liaises with managers and specialist from other companies, firms, government institutions and organizations in connection with the work performed

Competency requirements:

  • Being familiar with the general internal rules and statutes and regulations given to respect the intellectual property rights
  • Knowledge of computer languages and programs for software integration that are necessary to perform his/her obligations
  • Basic database and SQL skills
  • Team building skills and Problem solving skills
  • Working technical experience on Microsoft Technologies (including Windows Server, Windows PC, SQL Server)
  • Working experience with web application technologies using HTML, Javascript, and XML
  • Working knowledge on browser extensions such as Chrome developer’s tool and Firebug
  • Conceptual knowledge on web services

Preferred experience/competencies:

  • Experience with banking software such as CBS from Temenos, Oracle, Finacle, etc.
  • Experience with delivery channels development and/or implementation
  • Knowledge of microfinance
  • Working knowledge on browser extensions such as Chrome developer’s tool and Firebug
  • Conceptual knowledge on web services

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess a college degree or equivalent experience
  • Preferably with minimum of 5 year experience in related field or 3 years if experience includes banking and/or delivery channels
  • Must be resourceful, highly organized and keen with details
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Can work with minimal supervision
