Service Manager Job Vacancy

Our client, a motor vehicle sales and service company is urgently seeking to fill the above position.

Job Overview
Responsible for ensuring effective management of Service, Body-Shop & leasing department & branch through the achievement of sales & profits growth and efficient service delivery for customer satisfaction

Responsibilities day to day:

  • Day to day management of the branches, service, body and leasing department
  • Prepare and approve estimates for repairs in the body shop
  • Liaise with parts department on parts needs for service, body and leasing.
  • Daily tracking of branches, service and body-shop performance on actual against budget
  • Manage debtors within policy guidelines
  • Review & sign-off all branch, service & body invoices & cash sales
  • Review and discuss floor performance with all the supervisors
  • Follow up with service advisor and supervisor on WIP management
  • Give technical advice and assistance to all workshop staff when required
  • Administration of warranty issues
  • Handle all customer feedback with root cause analysis and countermeasures for customer satisfaction
  • Maintain positive employee relations and morale
  • Oversee customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient and courteous attention by all staff (Service
  • Advisors, Service & Body, Leasing Supervisors & Technicians)
  • Ensure that company (& legal) policies & procedures are adhered to and followed by all staff within the department at all times
  • Ensure compliance to EHS legislation by all staff within the department at all times
  • Manage productivity and efficiency of staff through a fair incentive system (bonus scheme)

Responsibilities – month to month

  • Prepare monthly reports for management reviews & countermeasures discussions (detailed WIP, through put, productivity & efficiency and models analysis, debtors, profitability, sales)
  • Share technical information as received from time to time (from FHI) – distributed to workshop staff as appropriate and to all dealer and branch network
  • Prepare technical reports to FHI when necessary
  • Review new service, body-shop and leasing business strategies for customer acquisition • Customer retention strategies through developing the existing customer base (insurance assessors, brokers and companies, continuous relationship building and customer satisfaction initiatives
  • Keep up to date with product range developments
  • Monthly Budget tracking to actual and countermeasures is achieved

Responsibilities – Quarterly/annually

  • Prepare annual budgets (Sales, COS, profits, Direct costs, productivity, efficiency, resource planning,
  • Capital Expenditure needs, Manpower needs)
  • Staff Appraisals – performance management
  • Review gaps analysis & recommend training needs for workshop and leasing staff competency development
  • Monitor and evaluate competitor activity and their effect upon the company’s business and market penetration through regular analysis (SWOT, Customer profiling, Fleet Management)
  • Annual EHS Audit compliance & subsequent implementation of Non-Conformities (NC’s)

Salary: Dependent on experience in previous appointments
