Procurement Manager Job Vacancy

Our client, a major player in the food industry provides quality, variety and excellent customer service. They are seeking for a vibrant and motivated individual to fill in the following position.

Procurement Manager 
Reporting to the General Manager, the procurement manager will be responsible for overseeing of all stores and accountancy activities while ensuring efficiency, accuracy, timeliness and security of all available resources.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Planning and co-ordination of supplies management services
  • Source commodities by Identifying reputable suppliers based on supply capacity, service and quality offering
  • Supplier contract negotiations by requesting, consolidating and analyzing supplier proposals for optimal cost, quality and value
  • Enforcement of Government procurement regulations, systems and procedures
  • Initiation of policy, review and updating of existing regulations, supplies management instructions, inspection, training and development of the supplies personnel
  • Designing and implementing an effective procurement records management, retention and disposal program
  • Liaising with all locations and specific departments in organizing for specification of goods and services for procurement.

Key Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supplies
  • 7 years business experience of which 3 years are in commercial procurement.
  • Be a registered member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supplies (CIPS), Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or any other relevant professional association
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
