Deputy General Manager Job in Kenya

Our client a Global Internet Service Provider is seeking to hire for the role of Deputy General Manager for their Africa Operations

The Deputy General Manager (DGM) is responsible for the overall company performance in terms of Business Development, Project Implementation and Revenue Assurance, strategy and development of the Client Organization


Business Management

  • Projects Management
  • Budget and Sales targets ­ Timely Forecast.
  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly reports stating currents position and projections of near future.
  • Comparison to budget and strategies for business growth for each line item.
  • As a senior member of the management team, to groom and mentor fellow members of the management team to deliver according to the company’s vision and goals.
  • Ensure that individual Heads of Departments have a highly motivated team capable of working towards the company’s objectives

Performance Management

  • Working in line with the Human Resources and relevant company policies and procedures
  • Ensure periodic assessment is carried out by all Departments and appropriate action is taken to improve performance and deal with poor performance
  • Document each process and procedures
  • Monitor the implementation of such policies and procedures and keep updating/improving it in order to improve efficiency of organisation / team.
  • Implement processes and procedures than individual intervention.

  • Build, develop, and maintain strategic relationships with all key influential among high ­value customers, Partners, local government/municipality, media, etc.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all customer touch points, both direct and indirect.
  • Recruiting and retaining the best human resources within his team.


  • Cheer lead each teams for world­ class performance. 
  • Own sales organization, recruit, train, monitor and strengthen our sales, Customer Care and others who are part of team. Establish and track personal KPI system and optimize comp and reward accordingly.


  • Regular communications with markets and from markets about progress, issues, initiatives, customers, etc.
  • Talent management. Attract, hire, and develop a solid team of hardworking and evangelizing employees who work well together and share the Company’s vision.


  • Should hold a Bachelors degree in a Business field
  • A Masters degree is highly preferred
  • Must have at least 10 years’ experience in the Internet and Telecommunications Industry
  • Must have good working knowledge of African Markets
  • Must be willing to travel extensively
