CHS-K Operations – Senior M&E Officer 2017 Job in Kenya

Centre for Health Solutions – Kenya (CHS) is currently sourcing for a high calibre, self-motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer – Operations for the PEPFAR-funded Tegemeza Plus project in Central Kenya.

Overall Job Function

Reporting to the Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor, this role will be responsible for timely collection of data; validation and ensuring that CHS supported sites have accurate and timely data.

This person will coordinate the Monitoring and Evaluation Officers as well as Data Officers to ensure that accurate data is collected and validated at facility level.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the timely collection, validation, reporting and presentation of donor and program utilisation data.
  • Support the cascade of reporting HIV program data from facilities to the National M&E system (DHIS).
  • Coordinate County M&E stakeholder activities that include data review meetings and TWGs to evaluate and disseminate the performance of CHS supported activities.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure all elements of the data system are being utilised effectively, assessing and identifying breakdowns and areas that require clarification and/or improvement.
  • Review and update tools and guidelines for site mentorship assessments including M&E tools checklists, ART retention tracking tool, and ensure all the tools are congruent with the M&E plans.
  • Report M&E updates and activities to HIV service providers, Program Officers, Sub County Health
  • Management teams and any other relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate M&E/Data activities for HIV care and treatment, testing and counselling, Prevention of Mother-to-
  • Child Transmission (PMTCT), and community engagement.
  • Provide any other technical support M&E as required.


  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, or related discipline
  • At least five years professional experience in M&E systems especially in HIV Program Monitoring and Evaluations
  • Strong Data Management and analysis Skills
  • Strong Supervisory and Management Skills
  • Excellent analytical and information management skills, with advanced proficiency in DHIS and DATIM reporting systems
