KASNEB Examinations Development Officer Job

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant position: Examinations Development Senior Officer.

Overall purpose

The Senior Officer, Examinations Development,will participate in the moderation of examination question papersand other related examinations matters.

Reporting to the Manager, Examinations Development and Research

Job Responsibilities

  • Identifying and vetting potential examination setters.
  • Ensuring the safe custody of all examination question papers.
  • Ensuring that all examination question papers are moderated, reviewed, proofread and typed.
  • Participating in the printing of examinations.
  • Conducting periodic risk assessment in relation to the examination development function.
  • Ensuring that there is an adequate bank of examination question papers.
  • Participating in review of syllabuses and preparation of pilot papers.
  • Ensuring that all examination officers and examiners are properly trained in setting and moderation of examination questions.
  • Ensuring risk management in the area ofoperation.
  • Ensuring the implementation of the ISO Quality Management System in the area of operation.
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Education ,Information Communication Technology, Law, Social Studies or related discipline from a recognised university.
  • Master’s degree in related field will be an added advantage.
  • KASNEB graduate.
  • Membership in good standing to ICPAK, ICPSK, ICIFA,ICM-K for KASNEB graduates or any other professional institute like IHRM, LSK.
  • A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience three (3) of which should be in examinations research and development activities in middle level management in a large organisation and three (3) years relevant experience as Examinations Officer for serving officers

  • Be computer literate.
  • Satisfy the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
