Operations Manager Job in Kenya

A leading company in cosmetics is seeking to recruit an aggressive, mature suitable personnel to fill the position of Operations Manager/Coordinator preferably someone who have supervised merchandisers before and have worked with Supermarkets.

Location: Nairobi

Type: Full Time and permanent
Salary: KES. 50,000 – KES. 60,000 plus commissions on all retail sales
Reports To: Managing Director

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that kiosks, wall units and stands are kept up to standards.
  • Ensure timely supply of stocks to kiosks/shops, supermarkets, pharmacies and beauty shops
  • In charge of standards for the kiosk, stands and wall units
  • Ensure quality of repairs done at kiosks, wall units and stands (lights, wood work, ETR machine, computers, printers etc.) by liaising carpenters, electrician, IT etc
  • In charge of loss calculations and management/control at our point of sales and consignment
  • Prepare weekly reports of lost products at all locations and sending the same report to Managing Director on weekly and monthly basis.
  • Supplying data about sales from Enterprise Resource Program ( ERP) together with analysis extracted from ERP to be used in order to improve the operations , or sales.
  • Prepare orders based on the movement of the product on monthly basis in order to keep the stocks at all points of sales and warehouse at optimum level (no excess, no out of stock)
  • Informing the sales departments about the situation of stock, products that would expire in the following months or year
  • Monitoring slow moving items and come up with a strategy together with Marketing Executive to reduce the slow-moving stock or stock which are almost expiring
  • In charge of merchandisers, delivery team, front office and store personnel through training, leading, motivating, coaching the team and maintaining the discipline
  • Oversees the daily operations of operations department and its various components
  • Leading in stock taking
  • Preparation of monthly reports on kiosks performance, including condition of kiosks, quality of customer service, loss calculation, number of machine downtime
  • Together with Stores Manager, ensure maintenance of minimum stock levels and advise MD on time to avoid stock outs.

Key Performance Indicators

  • 100% Kiosk repairs including all lights and kiosks quality assurance (quality repairs)
  • 100% Wall units repairs including lights and quality assurance (Quality Repair)
  • Quality repairs of all nail polish stands
  • Loss calculation for all point of sales
  • Efficiency of merchandisers
  • Efficiency of delivery guys
  • Efficiency of stores personnel
  • Duration/time taken to repair machines at the kiosks (printer, ETR, computer, visa machine)
  • 100% update of OneNote
  • Operations checklists sent on time (weekly basis and by 9 am)
  • Time taken to resolve operations issues
  • Kiosks improvements

Qualifications

  • A degree in business related field with 2 years’ experience in FMCG with market knowledge
  • Previous experience in managing merchandisers
  • Well-developed negotiation skills
  • A self-starter with a tenacious and autonomous attitude towards developing new business and managing targets
  • Good analytical and leadership skills, a leader who knows how to motivate and control a team
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Experience in beauty industry will be a plus.
  • Computer Skills: Word, excel, and power-point
  • An interest, enthusiasm and passion for beauty products
