Plan International Project Officer 2107 Job in Kenya

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

Support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) for Nairobi and Coast Counties of Kenya is a USAID-funded $41 million Cooperative Agreement awarded to a consortium led by Plan International.

Known locally as the Nilinde Project, this five- year initiative aims to improve the welfare and protection of the most vulnerable households affected by HIV/AIDS by reducing economic vulnerability and empowering parents to make investments that will improve the health and well-being of OVC.

Job Responsibilities
Reporting and Documentation

  • Regularly collect, review and collate project activity specific reports to monitor progress, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Maintaining up-dated log of all project reports and intervention area specific protocols and guidelines within Nilinde and from GoK line ministries Ministry of Health and PEPFAR.
  • Establish and manage an efficient document management system for the program for easy access, storage and retrieval of documents in both hard and soft copies.
  • Filing and storage of project documents and reports.
  • Producing accurate and timely reports, program team’s meeting minutes, SIMS update reports, and other publications to showcase project lessons, and results to contribute to the wider Nilinde.
  • Responsible for managing mini-projects assigned to him/her and ensuring timely execution and working across teams.

Coordination of project review Meetings and workshops

  • Coordinate planning meetings and workshops for Service delivery partners in Nairobi County and across teams as may be called upon and guided through the supervisor.
  • Provide back office support portfolio review processes and monthly program review meetings/reports from Service delivery partners
  • Work with technical team leads and or functional heads to coordinate the facilitation and execution of training activities aimed at building the technical capacity of service delivery partners.
  • Providing back up to the team leads and act as a link between the program team and the finance and grants units projects within the sector
  • Consolidate weekly plans and activity reports to help harmonize program formulate plans and cope with emerging trends to ensure competitiveness and growth in the market.


  • A Bachelor’s degree in project management, social sciences, administration or equivalent and three years of program and or administrative experience.
  • Proficiency with various personal computer software applications.
  • Demonstrate high level competencies in Excel, word and PowerPoint packages
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing and oral presentation skills in English and Kiswahili to meet the diverse technical and managerial support requirements of the project partners.
