Sanlam is continuously striving to drive exceptional sales and service for its affluent business. To support this, Sanlam is now looking to recruit five Business Development Managers.  If you’ve got
six years successful experience in business development with a focus on high net worth clients, then this is the job for you!

Reporting to the Head of Affluent Sales, the Business Development Managers will be responsible for driving exceptional sales and service for the Affluent business and deliver highly customised solutions to meet client needs. They will work closely with other departments and group companies to realise synergies for growth. The job holders do not have any direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Affluent Segment marketing strategy, plans and initiatives that are effectively integrated into the Group strategy in liaison with the Head;
  • Manage and execute the Affluent Segment marketing according to the agreed strategy including, product mix, product development, pricing and distribution;
  • Perform needs analysis based on client information and recommend investment plans;
  • Effectively source new business and provide a variety of financial solutions to Affluent Segments Clients;
  • Review all marketing plans to ensure alignment with the overall Group strategy;
  • Monitor sales activities and evaluate progress; providing sound sales and marketing advice;
  • Research and report on external opportunities for the Affluent Business;
  • Create new business development opportunities for the Affluent segment;
  • Establish new ways to promote a new culture of high performance within the Sales and Distribution teams;
  • Produce monthly sales reports.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/ Marketing/ Insurance or its equivalent from a recognised institution.
  • Diploma in Insurance from AIIK / ACII or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Member of AIIK /ACII or a relevant professional body.
