General Trade Channel Manager Job in Kenya

Our Client an FMCG company manufacturing and distributing hygiene goods across the region is looking to recruit a General Trade Channel Manager. The ideal candidate must have GT and HORECA exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • In charge of the GT Channel; Distribution, Coverage, Visibility, Volume and Sales targets.
  • Establish sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota plan for various territories
  • Develop and track monthly sales budgets and targets per brand, per SKU, per Rep, Per region monthly
  • Relationship management across levels: TSIs, key customers; identifying new customer opportunities
  • Recommending product lines by identifying new product opportunities
  • Product, packaging, and service changes;
  • Surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors
  • Conduct regular market visits to check route coverage and competitor activity
  • Continuously search for new opportunities to increase sales in the GT
  • Provide distributors and customers with information about new or improved products and services
  • Provide distributors and customers with information about new or improved products and services
  • Co-ordinate with storehouse supervisor to ensure that adequate inventory stock of product is maintai
  • Liaise with the Marketing team to support merchandising and promotions


  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing or Business related course
  • 4 years’ experience in marketing or sales
  • Successfully delivered on KPIs (GT and HORECA exposure)
  • IT, budget preparation & management
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and lead a team
  • Excellent communication and ‘people skills’
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Excellent presentation and report writing skills
  • Commitment to achieving high performance levels
  • Bachelor’s Degree
