Main Purpose of Job
To provide programmatic leadership for I-PUSH Amref Health Africa activities with the aim to contribute to improved Maternal and Child health outcomes through scalable mobile innovations from Amref Health Africa and PharmAccess in a few counties in Kenya.

The main objective of the programme is to increase access to health services for low income people
through developing a savings programme with top ups (from donor and domestic remittances) via a mobile health wallet.

Qualifications

  • MPH, MBA Or related master degree
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Program leadership role
  • Experience in implementing health programs in Africa
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive and hands-on mentality, with an enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Proven experience of designing and implementing performance based work structures and data driven decision making.

Job Responsibilities
Strategy and Operations

  • Provide programmatic leadership on implementation of I-PUSH program activities in consultation with the Program Director
  • Participate in the preparation, review and periodic revision of detailed implementation plans for I-PUSH- Amref Health Africa to ensure the program is delivered within the timeframe and achieves all significant milestones
  • Monitor progress through regular field visits, review of indicators, partners, service providers, Community
  • Health Volunteers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the effective use of donor resources.

Coordination

  • Review all activity plans for Amref Health Africa in consultation with the Program Director
  • Manage the work Amref Health Africa program teams to ensure that I-PUSH is implemented effectively with high impact
  • Work closely with the Programme Director and PAF lead to ensure County workplans and implementation are aligned with the log frame, workplans and budget

Representation

  • Build an effective working relationship with partnership members and other key stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of a county and national level advocacy with Health in Africa Initiative and partnership members
  • Maintain regular, productive communications between I-PUSH partners and other key stakeholders

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare monthly reports for monitoring and provide input to the quarterly, interim and final reports to the Program Director
  • Provide support in developing case studies for publications
