Dimensions of the Role
The role provides a learning opportunity for the incumbent as he/she supports the overall implementation of the sponsorship and integrated health and Education project in Homa Bay Program Unit.


  • Work with children and families to ensure their participation in sponsorship and program activities.
  • Work with community volunteers to ensure quality and timely sponsorship production.
  • Work with CBOs for awareness creation, mentoring and community mobilization.
  • Create awareness to CBOs on Plan International expectations on communications and issues of child rights.
  • Train community volunteers and equip them with adequate skills for quality in Sponsorship communications.
  • Conduct community mobilization and ensure harmony in field operations.
  • Implementation of program activities.


  • Graduates from Kenyan universities/reputable colleges
  • Must have completed studies in a relevant field of study within the last 24 months.
  • Graduates who are below 25 years old and willing to commit their time on the program for the entire year
  • Demonstrated good character, creativity, honesty, positive attitude and ability to learn
  • Graduates who are currently not in employment
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development studies or Community Development.
  • Skills in project management – including project scope, budget and timelines
  • Community development programming
  • Community mobilization skills
  • Skills in project monitoring and reporting
  • Community facilitation, networking, partnership development and management skills
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Good interpersonal, relationship and team working
  • Conflict management skills
