Planning and Development Registrar Job in Kenya - South Eastern Kenya University

Duties

  • The incumbent will be responsible for the supervision and management of all functions pertaining to the Office of the Registrar Planning and Development. Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Finance, Planning and Development, the incumbent will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and monitor physical infrastructure, planning and development, maintenance and repair of existing facilities.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the Master Plan.
  • Coordinate and collect evidence for performance targets and preparation of the division’s performance contract quarterly reports.
  • Design and conduct surveys to obtain feedback from key stakeholders such as students, staff, alumni, research partners, public and private sector on satisfaction levels, service standards and educational needs.
  • Develop and administer the departmental budget.
  • Coordinate the preparation, review and implementation of the strategic plan.
  • Communicate, follow-up and implement decisions of Management and Management Committees.
  • Coordinate and implement development projects and prepare capital project plans and management reports.
  • Work closely with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Finance, Planning and Development) in ensuring that the planning and development department operates effectively and efficiently in line with the University and Government policies.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Finance, Planning and Development) from time to time.

Job Requirements
For appointment to this grade, one must have:-

  • An earned Ph.D. degree from a recognized University with five (5) years of work experience, three (3) of which as Deputy Registrar Scale 14 or its equivalent.
  • Masters Degree in a relevant field plus CPS (K) or equivalent professional qualification with ten (10) years administrative experience, three (3) of which as Deputy Registrar Scale 14 or its equivalent.
  • A first degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Architecture Engineering.
  • Be registered with relevant professional body, preferably a full member of the same.
  • Be ICT Competent.
  • Additional professional qualification and experience in handling of planning and development projects will be an added advantage.

NOTE: Shortlisted candidates for the position of Registrar Grade 15 ,Planning and Development will be required to have current clearance certificates from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Criminal Investigation department (CID) and Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
